Kenya Police Bullets FC have achieved a historic milestone after being officially granted a CAF club licence by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) First Instance Board (FIB). This approval clears the way for the club to represent Kenya in the 2025/26 CAF Women’s Champions League.
The licence is the first to be issued under the current FKF leadership, signaling a major step forward in raising the standards and professionalism of women’s football in the country.
Police Bullets earned the licence after passing CAF’s rigorous evaluation, which measures clubs across five key pillars:
The assessment, conducted via the CAF Club Licensing Online Platform (CLOP), required compliance with 34 detailed criteria. Police Bullets impressed by achieving full compliance, a testament to their preparedness to compete at the continental stage.
FKF President Hussein Mohamed lauded the achievement, noting the significance of this moment for women’s football in Kenya.
“Club licensing is not a formality—it is a foundation for real change. It demands that clubs operate professionally and sustainably, which is essential for long-term growth,” he said.
“Police Bullets FC is a clear example of what can be achieved when the women’s game is taken seriously. They remain the only team in the country where every player has a formal contract and earns a regular monthly salary. That sets a critical standard for the rest of the league.”
Formed in line with an FKF directive requiring men’s clubs in CAF competitions and the FKF Premier League to establish affiliated women’s teams, Police Bullets have grown into a model club for others to emulate.
Their commitment to professionalism and player welfare has not only earned them continental recognition but also positioned them as pioneers in the growth of women’s football in Kenya.
Meanwhile, the FKF FIB has confirmed that Nairobi United and Kenya Police FC are also undergoing similar evaluations ahead of their CAF competitions next season.
With their CAF licence secured, Police Bullets now shift focus to preparing for the upcoming CAF Women’s Champions League, where they will fly Kenya’s flag against Africa’s best.
This milestone not only underscores the team’s progress but also reflects the emerging strength of women’s football in Kenya—a game steadily growing in professionalism, visibility, and continental competitiveness.
