FC Köln Signs 17-Year-Old Kenyan Winger Maik Afri Akumu from Hertha Berlin

FC Köln has announced the signing of 17-year-old Kenyan winger Maik Afri Akumu from Hertha Berlin, marking a significant acquisition for the club’s youth ranks as they prepare for the 2025/26 season. Born on July 13, 2008, in Berlin, Akumu is a product of Hertha BSC’s youth system, having progressed through all their junior teams since the U9 level. Akumu made a notable impact with eight goals in ten games during the U17 first round and accumulated two goals and one assist in five appearances for the U19s.
